The sports topic that I have choose is archery. The aim of the game is to hit the bulls eye from 70m. The rules are if there is one whistle blast they may shoot and two whistle blasts mean they can move to the shooting line.One day I might play archery.

My opinion of the flag

I think that the New Zealand flag looks too much like the Australian flag. So I wanted the New Zealand flag to be the new one. That is my opinion about the New Zealand flag.

Profile 2016

Hello everyone! My name is Zion and my age is ten years old. My school is Ruapotaka School. My teacher's name is Mrs Buchanan and my principal's name is Mrs Vickers.

I am mostly good at maths. My learning goal is to better than before at my maths. I have learnt all my times tables and I am working on decimals.

I like playing with the basketball at school. My favourite food that I like is butter chicken. My favourite game is Dragon City.

We are learning about...

We were learning about how plants grow and seeds sprout. We grew cress and sprouted broad beans in class. We watched how water moves through plants by putting celery in coloured water.

My recount about our movie

When we made our movie, it was on the field and we made it around August. Everybody was included in our movie for the film festival and this is the story of how we made our movie. We all had jobs for different letters that are in Ruapotaka. My job was the letter U with Henry. We had to blue tack blocks onto rulers to form the the letter U. Once our letter was formed we took it outside and other letters came out. Also I was a part of the tech crew so that means I got to film too. Once all letters were out our movie was nearly finished. The last bit was to shout out Ruapotaka and our movie was finished. I felt proud I was in the movie and I was very happy being tech crew.

8th Film Festival

It was the 8th Film Festival and Ruapotaka had made their first movies. The classes were Room 9 and Room 10. It was amazing with lots of movies that we enjoyed. My favourite movies were The Force and Manaiakalani Man. On the buses it wasn’t very exciting but I enjoyed the film festival!

I felt proud that I was chosen to be in the Year 4-6 speech finals for 2015.  Here is my speech about crocodiles.

My comic collage

I took 4 photos of somebody and then I put the photos in a drawing. It looked like it was a moving scene in a Google drawing.  We did this because we were learning to look after our Chromebooks.

Where are we up to with our maths

 Yesterday we learned about fractions to help us with our maths. We made clay pizzas and sausage rolls. To help us with our fractions we cut the sausage roll in half and cut the pizza into quarters. With the rest over clay we made some topping such as cheese, tomatoes and pepperoni.

Going to save the world

This is one of the first Digital Learning Objects that we created and it was quite tricky.  I chose somewhere in the world I would like to visit one day.  Then I found an image of it on Google images.  Next, I cut around a photograph of my head using Pixlr so I could put  myself in that place.  Maybe I will travel there in the future in real life.

ANZAC cookies taste like ...

I have chosen to share my Anzac Biscuit DLO because it has information about ANZAC cookies.  I have learnt lots about ANZAC cookies and ANZAC Day.

On 25th April 2015, it was the 100th anniversary of ANZAC soldiers landing at Gallipoli.  We learnt lots of things about life and war for the ANZAC soldiers when we visited Auckland Museum in April.  We created poppies, we have written poems and letters about ANZAC and World War 1.
